Tender description

Scope of Works UK Power Network Services Limited are seeking contractors to undertake Airside civils, and minor construction works across its airport contracts. The Contractor shall be expected to carry out the Services in part of the airport areas shown on the diagram. Contractors are required to provide design, supply of materials and installation as instructed. Airport Operations: The civils and minor works requirements at airports have been divided into airside and landside areas. The airside area includes all parts of the airport around the aircraft, and the parts of the buildings that are only accessible to passengers and staff whilst inside the protected airport land. The landside area is the part of an airport farthest from the aircraft, the boundary of which is the security check, customs, and passport control alongside works, which may require local council approvals such as access roads and local airport businesses. In contrast, the landside area is open to the public, while access to the airside area is tightly controlled. Working within airside requires specific airside passes, scrutiny, safety checks and airport regulatory processes. Due to the nature and complexity of services delivery, this proposal is mainly focused on the civils and minor works requirements which can operate airside however will allow of landside works should the contractor be competitive. The main activities will include as below, except where stated the contractor shall include provision of all materials and services within the commercial pricing for the tender. Works will be comprised of planned and unplanned works. • Provision of general civil services: • Excavations • Removal and backfill • Excavations and installation of cable ducts, trenches and pits • Substation Bases • Concrete Cutting • Steel Structures • Cast Concrete Bases, • Pit, Ducts and Trench, • Traditional Brick Structures • Vac-Ex
