About adding context and requirements test Pre-market engagement Minimal UR has been undertaken. Existing content is over 2 years old and was undertaken by a BA rather than a UR, meaning the validity of the qualitative and quantitative data is not at the levels required. Work done so far No user research has been conducted. We have the infrastructure in place and are about to commence a Alpha with 50 users to test the functionality of the service end to end. We then plan on going through a BETA of 500 users, but will require UR as part of it. Infrastructure is already in place and were not looking for any sort of development or service design on this product. Which phase the project is in Discovery Existing team The Existing team consists of, Delivery Manager, Business analyst, Product Owner, Infrastructure SME, Testing, Architecture, Dev Ops. We are responsible for the management, security, infrastructure and applications for this product. Mobile provide devices for users who are on the move and need to continue to work. We continually strive to make the best possible product for our users and better the user experience. We currently have a mixed estate of iPhone and Android devices, as well as a number of tablets in order to fulfil this demand. Mobility are looking to release a new service offering on behalf of the mobile product known as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). This offering will allow users to utilise their own mobile device for work purposes, alleviating the need to carry a corporate device. DWP staff would be able to gain access to a limited set of DWP systems from a personal smartphone or tablet, meaning that they could more readily access those systems any time of the day, supporting a more productive and flexible workforce. DWP staff may also have preferences over the platform and device that they prefer to use personally, which may in many instances be of a significantly higher and newer specification than those of DWP Corporate devices. Mobility has therefore undertaken a project to implement BYOD as a service. This project will be delivered in three phases: • Alpha- learning which potential solutions have the best chance of meeting user needs • Beta- Validating design decisions though the development of the service. Look at how the new service will integrate with existing services and prepare for transition to live • Go live- supporting the service in a sustainable way, iterate and make improvement. Since then technology, priorities and ways of working have changed significantly from what they were. We need to understand the user needs and problems that could potentially be solved for people who work at DWP who may find the BYOD solution useful. We have very tight time frames within this project and are already looking to move into alpha from Nov-Feb From this knowledge we look to prioritise and organise pieces of work that will help streamline the process of BYOD, understand the user need, and make it much more user focused.
