Energy Efficiency Retrofit Project for Atlantic Technological University

Tender description

The Contracting Authority proposes to engage in a competitive process with negotiation to award a contract for construction works to deliver an Energy Efficiency Retrofit Project at the ATU Galway City, Wellpark Road formerly Centre for Creative Arts and Media Central Building located on Wellpark Road, Galway City. The Creative Centre for Arts and Media CCAM Campus which is a protected regional listing structure is part of the Atlantic Technology University ATU. The CCAM Campus was developed by ATU in the mid nineties, opening in 1998 and houses third level educational facilities for Creative Arts and Media CCAM. The building is a former redemptorist monastery which was opened in 1940 to accommodate students training for the priesthood. The project will upgrade and future proof the main ground floor of the central block of the 1940s building a protected structure RPS 10602 through fabric performance upgrade, installing a high temperature air source heat pump system as the primary heat source, and undertaking various lighting and controls upgrades, The facility is to achieve a Building Energy Rating of B. The total floor area to be upgraded extends to 2050 m2 Applicants must associate themselves with this competition in order to access the SAQ documents, ask and receive clarifications and submit a application response.
