Tender description

Prequalification competition for shortlist of 5 contractors to tender for the works, which pertain to the enabling and demolitions works for the overall school project and limited to the north west side of the school site, Teresa Ball House (a protected structure) and the Lourdes nursing home buildings adjoining Convent Lane. The Lourdes nursing home connects to Teresa Ball House via a glazed link on the south side and directly to the southwestern side of the TBH connected on 4 stories. This 4-storey building with brick façade with aluminum corner windows in concrete surrounds cantilever over the ground floor supported off RC columns. This also projects over onto convent lane. The works consist of the demolition of the existing Lourdes nursing home, earth works and the construction of a new set down with retaining wall along convent lane. Teresa Ball House is a part of a protected structure and protection measures are to be put in place to ensure that no undue damage occurs to the historic fabric. Associated site works include the provision of drop off carparking and retaining wall, service ducting and reconnection of cctv/security systems, the securing of TBH and associated paving and lighting to facilitate access to the temporary accommodation which will be installed in the follow on main contract.
