Hire of a Contractor to construct rock ramp type fish pass at Ballinacarrig Weir

Tender description

It is proposed to construct a rock ramp type fish pass immediately in front the existing weir. The footprint of the ramp is 13m wide x 61m long. The weir crest will be lowered by 600mm. The Works incorporate the following: • Review of information of existing services regarding planning and execution of the works. • Site set up including signage, compound, offices and welfare facilities. • Erection of control measures to ensure safety of on-site staff in the vicinity of all service pipelines and cables. • Implementation of traffic management and control measures as required. • Implementation of all mitigation measures listed in the Natura Impact Statement (NIS) and Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP). Ecological Clerk of Works shall supervise. • Erection of adequate damming and diversion measures to ensure all works are carried out under dry conditions. • Undertake an Underwater Archaeological Survey • Removal of existing Fish Ladder • Construction of Rock Ramp fish pass and ancillary bank protection • Handover to Client • Working over and in water • Pollution control • Testing Access and working space at the weir is restricted. No machinery will be allowed enter the live watercourse at any time. Access to third party land will be by agreement with Landowners, Employer, and the Employers Representative. The Contractor must liaise with all parties and reach agreement on conditions of entry prior to commencing any works.
