Contractor Design and Build Project. Refurbishment of the existing ground floor Neonatal Ward at University Maternity Hospital Limerick, consisting of special care unit, intensive care unit, high dependency unit including isolation rooms, associated offices and circulation areas along with minor works on the first floor associated with bringing service installations to roof level, stripping out existing services and installation of new services, plant installation at roof level, temporary works converting the existing day ward into a temporary special care baby unit for the duration of the works and conversion back to a dayward on completion, temporary sluice to be provided so existing sluice can be refurbished, temporary access corridor to be provided for the duration of the works including reinstatement of the existing area when the temporary works are removed from site. Contractor access for all phases will only be via the windows on the south while maintaining staff access and egress to the basement and admin building for the duration of the works. Total refurb area is 544m² including stores and dayward. Works to take place within a live Hospital, with a ward in operation 24/7 directly over the works area. The successful contractor shall be appointed as PSCS for the duration of the contract. (THE HSE WILL APPOINT AN INDEPENDANT PSDP FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT) The project shall be scheduled to commence immediately on appointment of the successful Contractor.
