Tender description

In summary, under this contract the successful tenderer shall be responsible for; Construction of a new 900meter Cycleway from Muckross Road (N71) to Ross Road via. Maurice O’Donoghue Memorial Park, Kerry County Council owned Green Field site, Rear of Killarney Racecourse and Castle Falls Housing Estate. The works will include demolition of existing stables at Killarney Racecourse (some stable roofs consist of asbestos materials), demolition of retaining wall to the rear of the stables, construction of new retaining wall, relocating and installation of new public lighting, constructing an entrance on Muckross Rd to Maurice O Donoghue Park to allow for entry to site, installation of a new kerb alignment at the entrance to Castle Falls H.E. to allow for construction of Cycleway, removal of existing small trees, wire fence, overgrowth and topsoil, Installation of Equine Fencing and Construction of the cycleway. To compensate for the 5-meter change in level between riverbank and racecourse entry, a ramp is to be constructed over 80 meters at a 5% Gradient. Rock Armour will have to be installed as part of this construction. Reseeding and Reinstating will also be part of the works.
