Carloway Community Association: Refurbishment of the Former Carloway Primary School

Tenders are invited for the provision of Principal Contractor to refurbish the CCA’s former primary school building, schoolhouse and the community centre. This work will be carried out in line with design and specifications provided by CCA’s Design Team. Bids are invited for the refurbishment and alterations to the former Carloway Primary school to provide a community centre, café and shop. The existing construction is a mix of masonry and blockwork walling with rendered and dry lined finishes with timber roof structures finished with slates and tiles. New internal partitions are timber stud finished with plasterboard. Replacement windows are AluClad timber with rooflights and heating is by air source heat pump with underfloor heating to the ground floor and radiators to the upper floor. Renewable technologies include roof mounted solar thermal and pv panels. External works comprise the upgrading and extension of the existing access and parking area, landscaping, repairs to the boundary walling, construction of new gate pillars and the provision of foul and waste water disposal points for RVs. The existing foul and surface water drainage installations will be extended and altered as required.
