Tender description
The South Campshires Flood Defence Scheme, consists of approximately 1.0 km of flood wall situated on the quayside, extending from Butt Bridge on George's Quay to approximately 50m east of the Samuel Beckett Bridge on Sir John Rogerson's Quay. Flap valves are required on specific Outfalls in the Quay Wall along the length of the Scheme to prevent influx of flood water to the rear of the flood wall via the drainage network. Flap valves to the specification enclosed are to be installed at the locations noted in the Works Drawings. 26 number Flap Valves of varying dimensions are required. The Outfalls are situated at varying levels on the Quay Wall and the area is tidal in nature. Tenderers should be cognitive of the tidal nature of the works and the need for liaison with Dublin Port Company for any proposed in river works. The Flap Valves are to be fixed to the Quay Wall as per the Works Drawings. Local preparation of the Quay Wall surface to the enclosed specification is required prior to flap valve installation. A geometric and condition survey of the Outfalls/Quay Wall is included in the Works Requirements to aid assessment of surface preparation at each outfall location. The Quay Walls are protected recorded monuments (RMPs) and tenderers should be aware that no undue damage should be caused by any temporary ancillary or associated enabling works. The successful tenderer will be responsible for site set up, site management, traffic management (if required), preparation of quay wall surfaces, and the supply and installation of Flap Valves. They will also carry out the role of Project Supervisor Construction Stage.
