Tender description

Supply of office, educational, accommodation, library and reused furniture, with reserved lot. The purpose of this notice is to notify the market of this forthcoming proposed tender opportunity for the provision of furniture solutions framework which is being conducted by the National Procurement Service for Wales (NPS). The NPS acts on behalf of the public sector in Wales to deliver value for money from the procurement of common and repetitive goods and services “once for Wales”. The NPS on behalf of the Welsh public sector wishes to establish a collaborative Framework Agreement for the provision of furniture solutions. This framework will be replacing the NPS current furniture solutions framework NPS-CFM-0006-14 and will be made available to use by all members of the NPS. The lotting structure of this framework is yet to be confirmed. Key areas are likely to include but are not limited to: — provision of office furniture, — provision of educational furniture, — provision of library furniture, — provision of accommodation furniture, — provision of reused furniture, — provision of re-manufactured furniture service. The NPS will be engaging closely with potential bidders during the procurement process to create a suitable and cost-effective solution for its customers. The commitment to deliver “Community Benefit” outcomes from our procurement activity is designed to ensure that wider social and economic issues are taken into account when spending public money. The intention is to achieve the very best value for money in the widest sense. Consequently, community benefit clauses will be considered as part of the proposed procurement as core or non-core or a combination of both to address socio-economic and/or environmental issues. The Welsh public sector is committed to supporting the employment of disabled persons through supported businesses. Suppliers should be aware that the NPS anticipate further engagement with supported businesses through the new provision of furniture solutions framework. The method of this engagement will be confirmed during the procurement process and detailed in the tender documentation. Further information will be provided once an OJEU Contract Notice is issued.
