Tender description

The project utilises the EU Growth Programme (2014-2020) and has progressed through the Workspace “Call” process for ERDF investment to Full Application stage. The Council seeks to appoint a suitably accredited and demonstrably experienced Principal Contractor to undertake the design and construction of the Aerohub Business Park — Phase 1 (Plot 2) under an NEC 3 Engineering and Construction Contractor (Option A) to BREEAM Excellent standard. The design works are complete to a RIBA 4 and the successful Contractor is required to undertake necessary due diligence for architectural, civil engineering, MEP engineering and landscaping. The construction works shall comprise site works including site access roads, earthworks, enabling works, statuatory services connections to existing, access roads, car parks, landscaping and drainage. The works shall include the construction of a high quality three storey office facility and 8 light industrial units across 2 blocks. ERDF Funding approval has been granted for Aerohub Business Park — Phase 1 (Plot 2) project and will be part of creating 851 m2 of office space and 1856 m2 (GI area) of light industrial space for SMEs on a high profile, constraint free site, encouraging future development of the Aerohub Enterprise Zone through the delivery of circa 7500 m2 (plot area) of BREEAM Excellent workspace within the Newquay Aerohub Enterprise zone. The Aerohub Business Park — Phase 1 (Plot 2) project will have the capacity to accommodate specific office workspace alongside light industrial units and service yards. The units will accommodate 14 small / medium sized enterprises and have been designed to facilitate future growth by being flexible. The project is required to achieve BREEAM “Excellent” as a minimum and deliver cross cutting themes, these are both key requirements of ERDF funding which has been granted. The project is required to achieve BIM Level 2 in line with all public procurement from 2016.
