Westmeath County Council (“the Contracting Authority”) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified economic operators who are interested in the delivery of a sustainable mixed tenure residential development including an access road at Brawny Road, Lissywollen, Athlone, County Westmeath (“the Development”). The Contracting Authority is seeking to identify an economic operator that is capable of working in collaboration with the Contracting Authority to identify the optimal solution for the Development, the Contracting Authority's requirements and to deliver these requirements as efficiently and sustainably as possible. Description of the procurement. The Contracting Authority is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified economic operators who are interested in the delivery of a sustainable mixed tenure residential development including an access road at the Development. The Contracting Authority is seeking to identify an economic operator that is capable of working in collaboration with the Contracting Authority to identify the optimal solution for the Development, the Contracting Authority's requirements and to deliver these requirements as efficiently and sustainably as possible. The economic operator will be required to comply with the criteria set out in the Athlone Town Development Plan 2014-2020 and the Westmeath County Development Plan 2014-2020. The Development has an estimated capacity of 650 residential units, subject to planning approval. The tenure mix is required to be 30% social housing units to be sold to the Contracting Authority at a cost price and 70% private residential housing units. The Contracting Authority will receive funding from the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government to build an access road for the Development. It will be the responsibility of the preferred tenderer to obtain planning permission for the Development and the Contracting Authority will have no obligation to reimburse any costs associated therewith.
