Tender description
In June 2016, the Council lodged a planning application with An Bord Pleanala seeking approval for a development of shopping centre in Florentine, Bray, Co. Wicklow. The Council's vision is for the centre to be a driver for the regeneration and rejuvenation for the commercial centre of Bray. A key aim will be to attract established fashion retailers to the centre, with shops of a size necessary to achieve this. WCC now wish to conduct a competition for the Design and Provision of Retail Development at Main Street/ Quinnsboro Road/ Florence Road Bray. In June 2016, the Council lodged a planning application with An Bord Pleanala seeking approval for: — 256 car parking spaces at lower level with 320 cycle spaces. — Two anchor stores. — 8 retail units at upper ground floor level and at first level. — 3 restaurant units at upper ground floor level. — 3 business units at first floor level. — 5 screen cinemas at upper ground, first and second floor levels. — Change of use of Nos. 6-7 Eglinton Road (protected structures) from residential to office use, demolition of rear returns and out buildings, construction of a glazed link extension to the rear of the structures and refurbishment of previous office use at No.8 Eglinton Road. — New urban street accessed from Main Street into the new development creating a central plaza with pedestrian access from Quinsborough Road, incorporating an events space, seating, landscaping and kiosks. — Demolition of Nos. 3 and 4 Florence Villas, Florence Road, and creating a new vehicular access for services at this location. — Demolition of No. 7 Main Street. — Demolition of the façade of No.5 Main Street. The Council's vision is for the centre to be a driver for the regeneration and rejuvenation for the commercial centre of Bray.
