Laboratory Furniture C Block Lab Project C149 & C154

Tender description

CIT are proposing to refurbish 2 nr laboratories, Phase 1 is lab C154 is to be complete by the 7th September. The date for Phase 2 lab C149 is to be confirmed, it is likely to be January 2016. Lab C154 currently accommodates 24 students. The proposal is to knock through to the office and store area and create a 32 seat undergraduate lab. The current lab furniture has no water on the benches. Water is required to turn this lab into a functioning undergraduate lab. The specialist furniture contractor is being asked to include a price to modify and adapt 2 of the existing lab benches, these are listed as Lab Furniture Unit 08. Lab C149 currently accommodates 16 students. It is proposed to incorporate the adjacent lab C151 into C149 to create one larger 32 seat undergraduate lab. The builders work element, including Mechanical and Electrical will be done by a separate contractor. This tender is for the supply and installation of the laboratory furniture only. The plumbing and electrical connections will be completed by CIT but the new furniture must include suitable connection points. Vulcathene piping to be used. The existing furniture will be removed by CIT.
