Shire Hall refurbishment

Tender description

Grade 1 listed – repairs and refurbishment will be in accordance with Listed Building Consent and have to be sympathetic to the original building design and construction. Extensive tiled roof, gutter, external stonework façade and external drain repairs. Demolition of existing partitions and walls, excavation of lower ground floor. Flooring, construction of new partitions and ceilings. Decoration. Rewiring, lighting and electrical heating installation including underfloor heating to lower ground floor. Replacement of existing water pipework including installation of new boilers. Installation of new ventilation and air handling throughout the building. Fitout of new café kitchen, and installation of new toilets. Work must be coordinated with separately procured exhibition fitout contractors who may want to start working in parts of the site before Main Works completion. Acoustic separation and fire separation works. Additional fire risk procedures over and above CDM procedures will need to be made during construction to protect the historic building fabric.
