Tender description

Peatland restoration project to be delivered in Peatland Restoration - Balmoral Estate, Black Burn (Revisit) 2026 Lot 1: requirements for a revisit to a previously worked peatland restoration site on Balmoral Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. Further work is required to secure successful restoration outcomes for this peatland area. This is a day rate tender, the funding for which will be confirmed by July 2026. The client for these works is Balmoral Estate. The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) – Cairngorms Peatland ACTION programme is providing the funding for the works and acting as Designer for the project. The total area of the project is 49 ha. Hand labour is located within Zone 1 only, totalling approximately 11ha, with the potential to extend into other zones if funding permits (tbc end July 2026). There are c9.6ha of exclusion zones where no works are required / permitted. Works will commence 10th August 2026 with an expected completion date of no later than 18th December 2026.
