Houton & Lyness Linkspan Painting

Tender description

This procurement is for works to repaint the Linkspans at Houton and Lyness Ferry Terminals over two years with works at Houton Linkspan being delivered in 2026 and then Lyness in 2027. The works include the cleaning, blasting and painting of the linkspan bridge and associated steel structures along with replacement of corroded bolts other steelwork where required. Lot 1: The project objectives are to carry out vital maintenance works to 2 No. Linkspans at Houton and Lyness: prolonging the operational life of both structures by removing corrosion and applying protective paint coatings to the structures and remove and replace minor corroded components, along with repairs to railings on the ferry berth. The works are located on an active ferry berth, consequently, there will be a need to ensure that lifeline ferry services between Houton, Lyness and Flotta are maintained throughout. This will require careful planning and phasing of operations.
