Monaghan County Council wishes to tender for Provision of Consultancy Services for a Feasibility study on District Heating for Lot (i) and Lot (ii) for Monaghan, Cavan and Leitrim County Councils.

Tender description

The feasibility study on district heating is to investigate the potential for district heating within the county and the DZ. This project will be split into two separate lots. The first lot will be to develop a heat map that includes heat demand, heat sources to identify areas of opportunity. These areas will then be ranked depending on where the heating networks would be best developed. The second lot will be to carry out a feasibility study on one of the high-ranking opportunity areas to determine its suitability for a district heating network. The feasibility study will include appropriate district heating business model options, identification of various stakeholders, evaluation of all potential funding opportunities and a cost benefit analysis of district heating compared to other low carbon technologies such as heat pumps.
