Removal and Storage for the belongings of clients in Housing Services 2025

Tender description

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is inviting expressions of interest from suitably experienced, and qualified organisations to carry out the Removal and Storage of items from and to various locations. This service relates to the removal, transportation and storage, of personal property, goods and chattels, irrespective of floor level, shape or size of premises. The Customers will comprise of Council tenants, less commonly homeless people (as defined by the Housing Act 1985) and or others as determined by the employer. The goods to be transported and/or stored will vary between the complete contents of a property and a limited number of bags, or boxes. The Provider(s) must use transport and storage facilities that are fully staffed and equipped for any size job likely to be required under this Agreement; and engage and retain sufficient number of employees fully trained for such work. The majority of the work will comprise of collecting goods from a residents’ home and transporting them to a different property. Goods may be moved to and from any location, primarily within Waltham Forest London, but also across London and, less commonly, outside of the M25 and on occasion to and from the Provider(s)’s own storage facilities. On occasions storage may also be required. Customers may sometimes arrange their own transportation into and/or out of store. With prior arrangement with the Contact Officer, the Provider(s) will be required to accept goods directly into store or to deposit goods from store directly onto the Customer’s transport. The Contract will run for a period 36 months from the Date of Commencement of Service. As a guide, the average work output over the 3-year Removals and Storage contract will be in the region of 170 moves. There is no guarantee as to the Volume of work is undertaken or any work at all.
