Warmworks is procuring a local supply chain of skilled and certified contractors to support the delivery of the Shetland Isles: Area Based Scheme (ABS) Programme. Lot 1: Warmworks is procuring a local supply chain of skilled and certified contractors to support the delivery of the Shetland Isles: Area Based Scheme (ABS) Programme. This initiative, funded by the Scottish Government and managed on behalf of Shetland Islands Council, aims to reduce fuel poverty, improve energy efficiency, and support the decarbonisation of heat in domestic properties across the Shetland Isles. Contractors will be responsible for a wide range of activities including technical surveys, design, installation and commissioning of energy efficiency measures, compliance with regulatory standards, and community engagement. The goal is to ensure high-quality, sustainable retrofits that benefit both residents and the local economy. Warmworks anticipates that the tender opportunity will launch week commencing 07 July 2025 and will be available on the PCS platform. Contract award and onboarding are currently planned for early September, in preparation for works commencing thereafter. Warmworks is hosting an engagement event open to Shetland-based organisations that may have an interest in delivering these works. These sessions will outline the opportunity, set out scheme requirements in further detail, explain the tender process, provide a Q&A session for bidders and give prospective companies the opportunity to meet Warmworks.
