Tender description

The existing LIGO high performance computing cluster is part of a worldwide ecosystem that supports the LIGO research community. To securely evolve the service in line with its wider consortium partner requirements, new independent networking and storage hardware is needed to ensure an independently hosted Cardiff service. The existing Lenovo hardware solution was procured through Trustco using the NHS digital solutions framework agreement. To ensure compatibility with the existing hardware and its maintenance support contract, the new networking and storage must be consistent with the current solution. To this end, direct award to the existing supplier, Trustco (Lenovo), is necessary in this instance.
