Ambition North Wales’s Digital Programme is poised to bolster digital infrastructure investment in the region, aligning with the objectives of the North Wales Growth Vision. This investment, inclusive of the North Wales Growth Deal, is designed to empower communities and industries across the economic spectrum by addressing gaps and opportunities in a broad array of telecommunications technologies. Our investment strategy is region-wide, targeting both urban and rural areas to cater to local and regional needs. We acknowledge the importance of non-capital interventions in enhancing connectivity, especially in aiding rural communities to comprehend their connectivity improvement options. In our pursuit to enhance digital connectivity predominantly in rural areas, we are planning to procure a service that will actively engage with communities. This service will identify and clarify funding and technology options, provide guidance on local connectivity issues, and offer support throughout the funding application process. The service will involve personnel delivering pertinent guidance and practical support where appropriate to individuals, communities, and businesses. The service will assist in liaising with network operators and funding bodies on behalf of communities within the counties of Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Gwynedd, and Ynys Mon. Please note that there may be additional scope to include Wrexham see section 2 for details. The work is scheduled to be completed over the course of 2024. This procurement activity is funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund.
