Orbit Group Decarbonisation Retrofit Works

Orbit Group have carried out a tender for the provision of a Principal Contractor who will oversee and complete the installation of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEM’s) in accordance with the PAS2035 Retrofit process across our Orbit regional areas. Lot 1: The Project Team, made up of representatives from the Property Improvements (Decarbonisation) Team and Strategic Asset Management Team have been working with the Procurement Team to carry out a tender for the provision of a Principal Contractor who will oversee and complete the installation of Energy Efficiency Measures (EEM’s) in accordance with the PAS2035 Retrofit process across our Orbit regional areas. PAS 2035 (https://retrofitacademy.org/knowledge/pas-2035/) is the new over-arching document in the retrofit standards framework. PAS 2035 provides a specification for the energy retrofit of domestic buildings, and details best practice guidance for domestic retrofit projects. The works will include but are not limited to the following. • External Wall Insulation • Internal Wall Insulation • Cavity Wall Insulation • Loft Insulation • Flat Roof Replacements • Pitched Roof Replacement • Window and Door Replacements • Smart Thermostat Installation • Ventilation Upgrades • Night Storage Heater Installations • Air Source Heat Pump Installations • Ground Source Heat Pump Installations • Photovoltaic Panel Installations The initial 2-year contract will be based in the Midlands and is made up of 410 properties of which 160 will be funded by SHDF wave 2.1 funding. (Funding secured = £2.1M). The contract will also be made available to future program requirements across Orbit’s regional coverage. Although the initial intention is to deliver the works in Orbit’s Wave SHDF 2.1 bid, there will be further works which may be funded by ECO 4 or fully funded by Orbit. The intention is to enter into a long-term partnering agreement with the winning Principal Contractor who will have the ability and expertise to enhance our access to further funding options.
