Civil Works D& B Specification Longue Hougue Incinerator Extension

Tender description

Guernsey has two waste incinerators that need replacing. One for clinical waste and the other for animal waste. The purpose of this project is to replace both these incinerators on incinerator at a location at the Longue Hougue Reclamation Site, adjacent to the slaughterhouse and near to other waste facilities. The States of Guernsey requires a Contractor to extend and modify the current animal incinerator building at the Longue Hougue Reclamation Site to house the new equipment. This will require modifications and an extension to the existing steel portal framed building, plus groundworks including loadbearing footings for heavy equipment including a reinforced concrete ground slab and drainage works. This is a Design and Build Contract and the information in terms of civils design included in the Specification is provided to assist and guide the Civils Contractor in determining the full scope of the Works. The Civils Contractor will retain full design and build responsibility for all civils infrastructure within this scope. The proposed contract terms are NEC D&B option A. The Civils Contractor shall execute the Works in accordance with the Contract and shall supply all accessories and other items essential for the proper execution of the Works. The Contractor for the civils component of this project is required to work with the M&E Contractor for the installation of plant equipment and also alongside the Slaughterhouse operator who will need to continue using the old incinerator (where practical) whilst work is carried out.
