Design and Construction of a Solar Farm at Sandscale Park, Barrow, Cumbria

Tender description

The Council has undertaken a strategic review and identified a parcel of land under its ownership in Barrow, South Cumbria as a candidate site for a solar farm. A planning application for developing a 2MW solar farm at Sandscale Park has been approved and the next stage of the project is the procurement of a contractor to take the project through the Design and Build stages. The Design and Construction stages will be entered into as separate contracts with the Scope produced in Stage 1 forming the basis for the Construction in Stage 2. A Two stage D&B has been selected as the preferred procurement route via an open tender as it gives greater certainty regarding stage 2 costs.
