Galway City Council - Expression of Interest for support services for the Housing- Led Family Support Scheme

The Galway Local Authorities (Galway City Council and Galway County Council) are seeking Expressions of Interest from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and/or Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) who are interested in providing support services for the Housing- Led Family Support Scheme. ‘Housing for All - a New Housing Plan for Ireland’, the Government’s housing plan to 2030 was published in September 2021 and commits to eradicating homelessness during the lifetime of the Plan, whilst supporting social inclusion and providing a sustainable housing system. It recognises that many households experiencing homelessness have complex needs and require additional supports. The Government is committed to a housing-led approach as the primary response to all forms of homelessness. Action 3.18 of Housing for All is to identify and provide enhanced tenancy sustainment supports to families experiencing long-term homelessness to help them exit from homelessness and maintain their homes. The Housing-Led Family Support Scheme is targeted at families who are entrenched in homelessness, are identified as vulnerable, have complex needs and require additional supports to enable them to successfully sustain a tenancy.
