Negotiated Procedure for the Supply & Delivery of Hot & Cold Beverage Supplies, Equipment & Machinery which includes the Purchase of New Equipment & Maintenance of Existing Equipment

South Lanarkshire Council's Facilities, Waste and Grounds Services have a requirement to undertake a Negotiated procedure under standing Order 9 of the Council's Standing Orders on Contracts for the provision of "The Supply & Delivery of Hot and Cold Beverage Supplies, Equipment, and Machinery which includes the Purchase of New Equipment and Maintenance of Existing Equipment". The award of this contract under the Negotiated Tendering Procedure can be justified under Regulation 33 (1) (b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 and Standing Order 9.3.1 (b) of the Council’s Standing Orders on Contracts for the following reason: - The services can be supplied by only one suitable provider because competition is absent for technical reasons. The contract will be for a period from 1 December 2023 - 30 November 2028 with the option to extend for a further period of up to 24 months. The award of this contract under the Negotiated Tendering Procedure under Regulation 33 (1) (b) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 and Standing Order 9.3.1 (b) of the Council’s Standing Orders on Contracts for the following reason: - The services can be supplied by only one suitable provider because competition is absent for technical reasons. The supplies can be supplied by only one suitable supplier because competition is absent for technical reasons. Karing International Ltd adhere to the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drink in Schools (Scotland) Regulations 2020 and it mitigates the need for purchasing new/additional machinery as the supplies offered are compatible with the current machines, therefore resulting in savings for the Council.
