Hamworthy Park Seawall (East) Repairs

Tender description

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council) Flood Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) asset team require a contractor to carry out repairs at Hamworthy Park, Lulworth Avenue, Hamworthy, Poole. The inspection of the eastern facing seawall (198m in length with a 4m return at the eastern end) has highlighted multiple cracking and re-failing patch repairs which now gives a requirement to reinforce and refinish the eastern facing section of the seawall. In addition to the seawall, there are two stone piers/Landing stages which require work to tie in the facing stones, re-point and resurface to stabilise the walls. It is expected that these works would increase the longevity of the seawall for another 20+ years before a reassessment for further works would be required. The anticipated start date of the contract is March 2024, subject to licensing, and will be for approximately 9 months completing in December 2024 subject to licensing.
