M1 J10-13 Dynamic Hard Shoulder Upgrade How to apply: Please send an email to the below address: M1J10-11expressionofinterest@balfourbeatty.com Subcontract will have to hold Construction Line Gold Accreditation to be considered for works. Must be in or around a 40 mile radius of postcode - LU4 9UB The above scheme will require: • Saw cuts of concrete fenders at 9No overbridge locations. • Longitudinal saw cuts of varying, approximately 6000m at 150mm depth and 8400m at 450mm depth. The Subcontract Works are to be executed as part of the Main Contract Works set out below; Project Title M1 J10-13 Interchange DHS Upgrade Location M1 Junction 10-13 Description / Overall Scope of Works The existing central reserve Vehicle Restraint System (VRS) is being upgraded along the section of motorway from Junction 10 to Junction 13 as part of the Dynamic Hard Shoulder (DHS) safety enhancement scheme. The barrier upgrade is to be a Rigid Concrete Barrier system that will be slip-formed in-situ or pre-cast. The in-situ barrier will be Davidsons Concrete Barrier (DCB). The Pre-cast barrier will be Deltabloc Barriers. At bifurcation locations either precast Delta bloc DB 80E barriers or precast DB 80AS-E will be used. As part of the central reservation upgrades works - the drainage system where required will also be upgraded - mainly between J11a and J12. Main Contract Period The contract programme is defined by the following key dates: The start of works date is 11th September 2023 The open for traffic date is 31st July 2025
