MoJ, working in collaboration with the HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) is in the early stages of a project which will deliver specialist helmets for the supply of advanced trained staff operating across the secure estate. As part of this project, we are looking to gather more intelligence about the current market, how it operates, what it supplies and the available scope of innovation/product development. As part of this early work, we will: - Provide an overview of the potential scope of the contract via an online meeting To express an interest in this market engagement and receive further information please email mojprocurementsecurity@justice.gov.uk Additional information: Initial specification (subject to change) - Colour: Black - Ballistic preferable (non-ballistic will be considered) - All elements including eye protection and mandible protection. - Have full face/head protection - including mandible. - Have sealed eye protection/goggles which is to ballistic level. - Compatible with 3M peltors. - Compatible with Avon respirators. - Working at height compliant. - Modular to alter as required. - Be lightweight and comfortable to wear over prolonged period. - Be able to be cleaned and sanitised locally. - Ability to add accessories such as torches and peltors via guiderails. - Available in a range of different sizes. - Be tested to a standard, CE, NIJ etc. - Clear communication so users can speak to staff and prisoners during operational deployment.
