Programme Director Services for the ‘Balance for Better Business’ initiative

The ‘Balance for Better Business’ initiative was launched in July 2018 by the then Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. Balance for Better Business is an independent, business-led Review Group established by the Government to improve gender balance in senior business leadership in Ireland by ensuring more women play a role at board level and in senior leadership teams. The Programme Director will work directly with the Co-Chairs of Balance for Better Business, in order to plan and implement the strategic work programme of Balance for Better Business for 2023 and beyond. The Programme Director will leverage their knowledge, skills, and network to promote the Balance for Better Business vision of a more gender balanced economy, where leadership roles in the private sector reflect broader society in Ireland. The Programme Director will play an important role in offering ambition, leadership, and vision to businesses by communicating and demonstrating the commercial benefits of more diverse organisations. They will have operational control of the day-to-day activities to be carried out under the Balance for Better Business initiative, which aim to help businesses achieve the progressive targets set for representation of women on the boards and on senior leadership teams of companies in Ireland. The ideal candidate will be passionate about gender diversity, with a strong understanding of gender issues in the business context, and should have skills or experience in the areas below: • Knowledge of the Irish business environment • Strong administrative skills • Strong communication skills • Experience working with PR and communications teams • Experience with procurement • Good strategic thinker • Strong data analytics skills Further details can be found in the supporting documents.
