EDED2206-ByC - Ysgol Betws Y Coed, Kitchen Refurbishment

Tender description

The existing Kitchen and Dining Hall building at Ysgol Betws Y Coed is currently in a dilapidated condition and requires extensive refurbishment works to bring it back into use. This is the only kitchen facility at the school without which the school is currently receiving food via Ysgol Bro Gwydir in Llanrwst. Grant funding has been provided by the Welsh Government in relation to providing free school meals to all children of primary school age, a portion of which will be utilised for this project. The following works are proposed: • Complete strip out of all finishes, sanitaryware and removal of asbestos contaminated roof • New roof finishes (modern equivalent) • Remedial works to existing concrete portal frames • Internal wall insulation system • New timber double glazed windows • New timber doors • Full kitchen installation comprising of new equipment, surface finishes & ventilation system • New suspended ceiling system and insulation • Full electrical upgrade including new lighting • Underground drainage works • New heating system Full details of the works are contained in Volumes 1 – 4.
