Galvanised Steel Doors and Cabinets for MV/LV Substations

Manufacturing and Retro-Fitting of Galvanised Steel Doors and Re-shelling of MV/LV Substations that would cover the entire country. Lot 1: There are approximately 24,000 MV Substations on the MV System. Some are concrete built (i.e.indoor) or of a steel cabinet (termed unit substation or kiosk) design. Older concrete built substations had wooden doors many of which are up to 70 years old. Many wooden doors have advanced decay weakening the door and frame, leaving the substation vulnerable to third party access. Doors that are deemed too decayed to repair must be replaced with galvanised steel doors. In addition, steel cabinet substations (unit substations or kiosks) that were manufactured from painted steel or powder coated steel are prematurely degrading due to age related rust, especially in coastal areas. In these cases the door, including the entire outer shell needs to be replaced with a bespoke galvanised steel housing for each substation as part of the Asset Risk and Replacement Programme.
