Tender description

NOTIFICATION OF SUBCONTRACT PACKAGE A47 Tuddenham to Easton and Blofield to North Burlingham Dualling projects in the county of Norfolk on behalf of Highways England. The projects will complete the dual carriageway between Norwich and Dereham and will replace the existing single-lane section of the A47 between Blofield and North Burlingham with a new two-lane dual carriageway 70m South of the existing road length and is 5km in length including safety improvements to the existing junctions. This will support economic growth and easing congestion in the area. The projects has recently submitted a Development Consent Order to the Planning Inspectorate and the projects are forecast to commence on site in early 2024 and will take around 2 years to complete. Package: Earthworks Outline Scope of Works - The Earthworks Package consists: To provide all necessary supervision, labour, plant and materials required to undertake the earthworks comprising the excavation, processing, placement and compaction of site won soils and the Import of suitable fill material to form the development platform to support the new road, structures and landscaping. The contractor will also be responsible for the disposal to stockpile or off site of any unacceptable or surplus soils and other materials generated during the bulk earthworks. Tudedenham Approximate Quantities: Excavation of class 5a: 210,326.00 m3 Excavation excluding class 5a: 751,507.00 m3 Deposition and compaction of fill: 671,355.00 m3 Soil Stabilisation (Caping): 84,241.00 m3 Re-soiling: 450,000.00 m2 Blofield Approximate Quantities: Excavation of class 5a: 69,490.00 m3 Excavation excluding class 5a: 67,714.00 m3 Deposition and compaction of fill: 232,733.00 m3 Soil Stabilisation (Caping): 30,266.00 m3 Re-soiling: 174,514.00 m2 Programme: It is anticipated that the Earthworks will commence in January 2024.
