Direct Award for the Supply and Distribution of Fresh Meats, Cooked Meats and Fresh Fish

South Lanarkshire Council have an ongoing requirement to appoint a suitable supplier for the Supply and Distribution of Fresh Meats, Cooked Meats & Fresh Fish on behalf of Facilities Services, Education Resources and Social Work Resources. The Council’s Procurement Service have identified a suitable and accessible framework as follows: Framework: Scotland Excel Framework (SXL) Supply and Distribution of Fresh Meats, Cooked Framework Period: Meats and Fresh Fish (03-22) Lot 1 Fresh Meats Lot 2 Cooked Meats Lot 3 Fresh Fish The Council have utilised the above framework for a number of years. The renewed Framework arrangements went live on the 01 April 2023 for a period of four years with no option to extend. This will be the fourth generation of the framework. Lot 1: Lot 1 Fresh Meats On review of the options available to the Council under the Scotland Excel Framework it was agreed that directly selecting the highest ranked contractors within each Lot from the framework would provide best value to the Council. The Council conducted a benchmarking exercise to ensure that the suppliers ranked the highest by Scotland Excel were reflective of the internal ordering trends across Facilities, Education and Social Work. The exercise demonstrated that for Lot 1, 2 and 3, the Council arrived at the same conclusions as Scotland Excel and the suppliers recommended by the Framework do provide the most economically advantageous tenders for each Lot. Campbell's Prime Meat ranked the highest within Lot 1 and it was therefore agreed that awarding the contract via Direct Award under Lot 1 to the incumbent supplier would provide best value to the Council. The contract will run from a period of the 13th June 2023 until 31 March 2027 with no option to extend.
