About adding context and requirements test Work done so far • We have almost completed the Data Centre Design and have a full inventory of equipment at the two current physical data centres, and have procured a presence at the target data centre in Corsham. • We have taken receipt of new network infrastructure hardware that will be used at the Bristol Data Centre and in Corsham that we would like the supplier to configure and deploy. • We have undertaken a work breakdown structure of the programmes work packages. • We have undertaken a dependency mapping exercise and critical path analysis of all work packages. Which phase the project is in Discovery Existing team The existing team consists of a programme manager, network manager, 2x solutions architects, a technical operations team, database management team, and contracts from Change Management, Asset Management, Finance and Procurement which will make up workstreams that run for the duration of the project. Working arrangements The supplier will engage with their specialist resources to deliver the outcomes, and the supplier lead will engage with SCW's local programme team and workstream leads to collaborate and ensure successful outcomes. Project meetings and reporting will be weekly and a programme board will be run monthly. Collaboration with workstream leads will be ad-hoc daily in between weekly meetings where applicable to ensure delivery and no delay. The supplier must ensure that all expenses are included in their pricing. The supplier is not expected to work from the data centre location fulltime, but is expected to visit site as and when required to ensure the outcomes are met. Provide more information about your security requirements: Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) Latest start date 2023-07-01 Enter the expected contract length: 6 months Are you prepared to show your budget details?: Yes Indicative maximum: 300000 Confirm if you require a contracted out service or supply of resource Contracted out service: the off-payroll rules do not apply Summary of work SCW is looking for a supplier to own, manage and deliver a data centre relocation programme, that consists of the following components: • Multiple WAN circuit deployments and transitioning (data centre migration from our existing Devizes based Physical Data Centre "B" to a new presence in Corsham based colocation data centre "C"; delivery of circuits into data centres “A” and “C”) • Configuration, deployment and testing of equipment upgrades/new network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls) into our Bristol based Physical Data Centre "A" to align the configuration with infrastructure moved into the new data centre "C". • Data centre enablement in preparation for IT relocation • IT relocation of devices between data centres • Legacy data centre decommissioning (decommissioning of data centre B) Where the supplied staff will work South West England Why the work is being done SCW Estates Department, in conjunction with NHS Property Services have a requirement to close the premises known as Southgate House, Panns Lane, Devizes, Wiltshire. At present, one of two of SCW physical data centres that make up its logical data centre is in Southgate House. There is an urgent need to migrate away from Southgate House by the end of 2023. The business problem you need to solve The problem that needs to be solved is the successful data centre relocation from Devizes to Corsham, and the post IT relocation infrastructure decommissioning activities of the current data centre. SCW are looking for a supplier who has experience and is specialised in owning the programme of work associated with delivering these outcomes. The supplier is required to own and deliver each of the following: Project management resource for work packages relating to: • Managing multiple WAN circuit deployments via different telco providers • Managing the data centre provider in the enablement of the new data centre physical environment • Managing the SCW and supplier team in configuration, testing and deployment of new network infrastructure • Managing the supplier’s team in ensuring the accuracy of IT devices in scope to relocate and decommission. • Managing the SCW team in the completion of WAN circuit transition/migration plans • Managing the SCW and suppliers’ team in ensuring the final network testing is completed and commissioned. • Managing the supplier’s team in planning and executing the IT relocation events to successful completion. • Managing hardware vendors that may be required to perform IT relocation and re-commissioning activities. • Managing the site dilapidation stage, to include hardware decommissioning and asset disposal. Network engineering resource to own activities relating to: • Configuration installation to Cisco equipment to SCW design. • Cisco Firewalls - FMC and FTD installation and configuration. Support and audit of existing Cisco ASA (FPR&ASA) • Cisco BGP implementation and configuration for each network. (Experience of route redistribution and Community, tagging) • Cisco ACI deployment and configuration. Nexus 9K portfolio. • Cisco Meraki deployment of firewalls, switches, Wireless. • Cisco Routing and switching. Cisco 9500,9200,9300 Inc OTV, VXLAN, EIGRP, BGP Data Centre Engineering / technical coordination resource to own activities relating to: • Completion of hardware and end to end cable auditing of devices in scope for IT relocation from Devizes to Corsham • Ownership of current and future state patching schedules and audit documentation • Enablement of new data centre environment with appropriate patching cables ready to receive devices • Completion on device de-racking and re-racking where required • Final connect and commission of patching cabling per the patching schedule • Supporting SCW in post IT relocation commissioning and connectivity troubleshooting. IT Logistics service to own activities relating to: • Packing of IT devices into appropriate containers and packaging ready for transportation • Provision of specialist vehicles to relocate IT hardware between data centres Expected Deliverables for the outcome of a successful data centre migration and reconfiguration: • Delivery for the completion of works below o Delivery installation and commissioning of 13 WAN circuits • Installation configuration and relocation were required of identified infrastructure (existing identified for move, and new identified to commission) o Servers o Firewalls o Switches o Routers o Wireless LAN Controllers o Ancillary data centre infrastructure (PDUs etc) • Delivery of new data centre into live state compliant with the Design • Delivery of legacy infrastructure selected to move from legacy Data Centre new facility • Delivery of successful failover testing • Delivery of signoff document of completion Risks and challenges for Supplier: o Delivering the outcome in the timescales required.
