Cloud work here means moving to the cloud: migration programmes, cloud infrastructure builds and transition support for shifting a legacy system off on-premise servers. Day-to-day cloud hosting and cloud software subscriptions already have their own pages on Stotles; this one is about the move itself.
Stotles tracks 897 cloud migration and infrastructure notices to date, with 479 already awarded.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about cloud migration, cloud infrastructure in the UK public sector.
What counts as a cloud tender?
A cloud tender here covers a migration project moving a system from on-premise infrastructure to the cloud, a cloud infrastructure build, or a cloud transition training and change programme that goes with it. Buying an already cloud-hosted piece of software as a subscription is a different category, covered by Stotles' Software Contracts and Tenders page instead.
Who runs cloud migration projects in the public sector?
NHS trusts and health boards are frequent buyers, often moving a specific system such as a security or case management platform off an end-of-life on-premise deployment. Councils and central government departments run larger, multi-year cloud transition programmes covering a wider legacy estate.
What's the difference between cloud migration and cloud hosting?
Cloud migration is the one-off project of moving a system to the cloud: the planning, data transfer and cutover. Cloud hosting is what happens afterwards, an ongoing service running the system day to day. Stotles' IT Contracts and Tenders page covers cloud hosting; this page covers the move itself.
Are cloud migration projects usually run through a framework?
Many are. G-Cloud is the most common route, and several of the larger notices in the corpus are call-offs against it rather than open competitions. A full transition programme covering a legacy estate is more likely to go out as a standalone tender given the scale of the work involved.
