Tender description

A set of river access steps are required by the University of the West of Scotland to provide access to the River Ayr. The steps shall be used for launching and recovering small leisure craft such as canoes and kayaks. Principle elements of the works consist of: - 1) Earthworks to clear riverbed for foundation frame and profiling of the upper riverbank area; 2) Diver works to install foundation frame to river bed; 3) Steel section mini-piling for bankseat beam; 4) Construction of reinforced concrete bankseat beam; 5) Rock armour slope between steelwork and current river bank; 6) Installation of 3 x 2.4m wide steel access steps, including diver work; 7) Bituminous walkway with kerbing and resin bound gravel surfacing; 8) Handrailing; and 9) Security fencing, gate and latch post.
