Tender description
CPI have a requirement for various maintenance packages including but not limited to Servicing, Preventative Maintenance visits, breakdown cover, spare parts, consumables, and software and warranty extensions of Perkin Elmer equipment across all of CPI’s sites. Lot 1: South Dublin County Council invited expressions of interest for the civil engineering works for the following project “Dodder Greenway – Phase 2 – Bridges”. The Dodder Greenway - Phase 2 – Bridges scheme is part of the overall development and upgrade of the Dodder Greenway, a greenway that will run from Bohernabreena in the Dublin Mountains to the Grand Canal Basin in Dublin City Centre. South Dublin County Council are responsible for 12km from the Bohernabreena to Orwell Park in Rathfarnham. In general, the Dodder Greenway - Phase 2 – Bridges involves the construction of 3 no. 4m wide pedestrian bridges over the Dodder River at the following locations: Bolbrook Enterprise Centre, Avonmore Road; Riverside Cottages, Templeogue; Bushy Park, Rathfarnham. In additional the project can involve some of the works below: • Widening of existing paths in the vicinity of the bridges to create a shared surface minimising impact on the Dodder River • Construction of new shared paths for pedestrians and cyclists • Upgrade and installation of public lighting where required • Road markings and signage • Laying of utility services infrastructure i.e. ESB, telecom, CCTV • Associated landscaping works Procurement Method The project was tendered under the ‘Restricted Procedure for Works Contractors’ using ‘Public Works Contract for MINOR BUILDING and CIVIL ENGINEERING WORKS designed by THE EMPLOYER’, and issued under the ‘Dodder Greenway - Phase 2 – Bridges as Part of Stage 2 of the Establishing of Multi Party Framework Agreement of Main Contractors for Construction / Upgrade / Refurbishment Type Works for the Dodder Greenway for South Dublin County Council, Dublin City Council and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council’. Murphy International Ltd, Ground Floor, Great Connell, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, W12 HD61 were appointed as the construction Contractor for this phase of the works on behalf of South Dublin County Council for the sum of €3,451,208 ex VAT. Post commencement on-site the Office of Government Procurement (OGP) published notes outlining the mechanism for payment of Ex Gratia payments to contractors to account for the Irish Governments construction closure orders in relation to public health measures aimed at limiting the spread of the Covid -19 pandemic. As a result the following Ex Gratia payments were made to the main contractor Murphy International Ltd: • Ex Gratia Payment Construction Lockdown 1 (2020) – this was as a result of imposed work stoppage due to public health measures in 2020 and amounts to €64,517 (ex VAT) • Ex Gratia Payment Construction Lockdown 2 (2021) – this was as a result of imposed work stoppage due to public health measures in 2021 and amounts to €138,251 (ex VAT) Lot 1: South Dublin County Council invited expressions of interest for the civil engineering works for the following project “Dodder Greenway – Phase 2 – Bridges”.
