Galway City Council will require prospective tenants to provide investment to bring the building or site from its current condition to operational level and demonstrate a capacity of the operator to operate for a defined period under a lease agreement. Retention of the building is not a requirement of this tender. The current building is in need of significant investment and a site visit with an independent structural engineer is a requirement for any prospective applicants before a submission of a proposal. The terms of the lease agreement will reflect the level of investment that the operator is able to invest into the facility / area. Evidence of access to investment will be a key determinant in the assessment process. The property comprises of a parcel of land measuring approximately 0.13 hectares facing directly onto the Salthill Promenade and Galway Bay. It also has access off Quincentennial Drive and is adjacent to the Seapoint Complex and Galway Atlantaquarium. The site enjoys superb views over Galway Bay and is located next to Toft public car park and is well served by public transport. The Eircode for this building is H91 EY03. This site contains a building that was once a local Tourist Information Office. This single storied building is approximately 1915 sq. ft. and occupies a small portion of the site. Land Use Zoning: The site is zoned Recreation and Amenity in the Galway City Development Plan 2017 - 2023. The preferred applicant will be required to submit for planning permission for the project within 12 months of project approval. A site visit is Mandatory for this contract.
