Proposed Extension and Refurbishment of the Tholsel Building and associated site works. Refurbishment of the existing protected structure of the Tholsel (Recorded Monument) with a gross floor area of 762m2. Construction of a new double height glazed extension within the ground floor arcade with a gross floor area of 50 sq.m. Works to existing basement including provision of new access and ancillary site works and a new plant area adjacent to the Almshouses and exposure of archaeological zones. New extension and basement to the rear. The building will operate as a new tourist attraction as well as a town hall.
