THEATRE ROOF REPLACEMENT AT STAMFORD ARTS CENTRE

Tender description

South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) leases and manages the Arts Centre in Stamford, PE9 2DL. The Building is primarily in use by SKDC for the purpose of Theatre but also provides a variety of other services including meeting space, exhibition space café and bar. The building is thought to have been constructed approximately in the 1760's as the understood construction date of the theatre is 1768. The property is located centrally in Stamford town centre and compromises accommodation over four floors. The primary works in relation to the building are to resolve any ongoing water ingress issues and allow the building to return to use as intended. To do these repairs, works will be required to the roof structure, to ensure the building is watertight. The survey has identified numerous issues of repair required to the roof and SKDC will be looking to undertake the following scope of works, as detailed in the specification: Theatre roof - Full overhaul and relay of the roof covering (salvaging the existing slates where feasible), undertake timber repairs, insulate, replace leadwork, fully overhaul/refurbish (replace if necessary) rainwater goods.
