The Provision of a Contractor to Design, Supply and Install Active Travel Infrastructure and Wayfinding Signage

Armagh City Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council recently commissioned an Active Travel Masterplan which included an audit of the existing cycle parking provision within the 6 centres (Armagh City, Banbridge, Dromore, Lurgan, Craigavon and Portadown) along with a study of the current wayfinding and signage along the active travel route/greenway between Lurgan, Craigavon and Portadown town centres. The Council has recently applied to DfI Active Travel for funding to install cycling infrastructure and accompanying signage across the Borough and these works divided into three sections as below. A. Public Bicycle Parking for Armagh, Banbridge, Dromore, Portadown, Craigavon, Lurgan. As part of a wider Active Travel Masterplan an audit was carried out on the existing cycle parking provision within the 6 centres of the Borough. It looked at areas where replacement of existing and introduction of new facilities could be implemented. The works will entail the provision and installation of cycle stands, e-bike racks, cycle repair stands and bike shelters.B. Wayfinding and Directional signage between Portadown and Lurgan. The route between Portadown, Craigavon and Lurgan exists both off-road and on-road. These represent two different types of environment in which directional and wayfinding signage can be deployed. C. Cycle Infrastructure - Provision and installation of cycle parking, provision and installation of Cyclehoop Deluxe bike repair stations with pump and the design, manufacture/procurement and installation of cycle parking and bike repair station signage.
