<p>Scope of Works This project is for the reconfiguration of the freight in-gate facilities at Harwich International Port. The works generally comprise: • Reconfiguration of Freight Entrance Road &amp; Roundabout • New Two Lane Damage Control Facility (including damage control equipment) • New Multi-Lane Freight Cab Height Check-In Gate • Relocation / Replacement of the Terminal Entry Check-In Control • New Operations Centre (Modular Office Building) • New UKBF CTC Office (Modular Office Building) • New IT Server Building (Modular Building) • Associated staff and visitor car parking • Freight Rejections Parking Area • HGV Cab Parking / Waiting Area • HGV Cab Contract Parking Area • New Hardstanding for UKBF Freight Scanning Area at the Border Control Post • Demolition of UKBF Freight Shed 2 • Demolition of the Existing Freight Exit Damage Control Facility • Demolition of the Existing Freight Entrance / Exit Canopy • Demolition of the Existing Operations Centre • Traffic &amp; Pedestrian Management Plan • Hardstanding for Freight Queueing / Parking • New Freight Driver Toilet Block • Demolition of UKBF Freight Shed 1 (TBC) • Demolition of the Truckstop Diner • Demolition of the Existing Freight Entrance Damage Control Facility (TBC) The existing freight check-in / exit layout is detailed on drawing number P-22-02-01. The preliminary freight in-gate layout is detailed on drawing number P-22-01-01-02. It should be noted that the construction works will require phasing and that the freight exit will be re-routed prior to the commencement of the project. The contract for this project will be based on the Infrastructure Conditions of Contract for Minor Works (2011) with Employer’s special conditions. The anticipated that the expenditure associated with the freight in-gate reconfiguration construction works is approximately £5M.
