Patrickswell Village Renewal Scheme Phase 2

Tender description

The village renewal scheme consists of the upgrade of the public realm and remodelling of the layout to improve traffic management along Main Street in Patrickswell. Phase 2 commences at the tie-in to previously constructed Phase 1 at the Applegreen service station west wards for a distance of 490m to the entrance to Patrickswell Enterprise Centre (IDA site). The works are to consist of road realignment, narrowing of the carriageway widths, reconstruction of newer wider footpaths in decorative brick paving, with provision of orderly road side parking areas, landscaped buildouts, the improvement of junctions along the routes, to provide consistent pedestrian facilities including the construction of a continental style roundabout, a signal controlled Pedestrian Crossing and several uncontrolled pedestrian crossings, a raised pedestrian crossing, raised entry treatments, new street lighting, grounding of overhead power and telecommunications cables, provision of new ESB ducting, Eir ducting, spare telecommunications ducting, modifications to surface water drainage, new street furniture, road reconstruction, road resurfacing, coloured road surfacing, footpath reconstruction and construction of new footpaths and hard landscaped areas with decorative paving block finish, new traffic signs and road markings. The total area of the works is 10,200 square metres including 4,730 square metres of road surfacing approximately.
