TD1905 Electric Rapid Transit (ERT) Service for the City of Derby

<p>Pre-Procurement Market Engagement (PPME) process. Derby City Council is intending to undertake a procurement exercise to procure a service provider to operate an Electric Rapid Transit (eRT) Service for the City of Derby. The eRT route would be a key investment in revitalising the public transport offer in the city, providing a new emission free, high frequency, rapid seamless service, which would include some traffic-free routing’ and priority at key signal-controlled junctions. eRT is planned to operate between the Pride Park employment area, Derby Station, Bus Station, city centre, and Cathedral Quarter urban regeneration area. This aims to help to integrate the rail and bus stations, key locations in the city and Pride Park (football stadium, arena, and existing Park &amp; Ride site). It would also deliver a central spine from which other public transport routes can radiate. The Council intends to procure a single provider to operate the service. The Council will consider the input and responses received as part of the PPME to help inform the Council's options and further decision making. This PPME stage of the project is not part of a formal procurement process and the Council is not committing, at this stage, to carrying out such a process. Participation or non-participation in this PPME shall not prevent any supplier participating in a potential procurement process nor is it intended that any information supplied shall place any supplier at an advantage in any forthcoming procurement process.</p> Keywords: Operator, Electric Vehicle, Public Transport
