Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, as the Lead Administrative Body for the Taff Bargoed Catchment Restoration Scheme (“Restore the River”) would like to procure a two-stage Design and Build project for a sediment management installation at Parc Taf Bargoed, Merthyr Tydfil. Additionally, there is an area of the lake referred to as the Training Pitch which requires some deepening.NOTE: The authority is using eTenderwales to carry out this procurement process. Since their installation, sedimentation in the lakes has caused the lakes to become partially infilled. Dredging is an expensive and temporary solution so a longer-term, more sustainable solution is needed. Grant funding has been sourced to restore and maintain amenity use of the larger lower lake area.The lakes at Parc Taff Bargoed have a range of amenity uses, and the sedimentation of the lake is changing its appearance and morphology and affecting those uses.
