Tender description

For a Multi-Disciplinary Team for a conservation and restoration project at Glaspistol Castle/Tower House, Clogherhead, County Louth (Recorded Monument LH022-019) with Aggregate spend up to €100,000.00 (inc VAT). Louth County Council, is the authority responsible for this procurement, however the client is Mr Charles Markey, owner of Glaspistol Towerhouse Castle and the council is tendering on his behalf. The project is funded primarily by the Community Monuments Fund, operated by the National Monuments Service, on behalf of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, through the Heritage Office of Louth County Council. The owner of the castle is also part-funding it. The team will review the 2021 conservation report by CORA (attached) to identify and address priority conservation works, fulfil the role of PSDP, tender for and oversee the work of the conservation contractor (and PSCS) appointed and carry out archaeological monitoring of the works. Additionally, necessary reports are to be provided upon completion of site works to allow for the drawdown of the CMF grant. Proposals are sought from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for this project. The team should include a conservation architect (grade 1), conservation engineer and an archaeologist. The commissioned persons shall provide relevant expertise to successfully fulfil the brief within the available budget and time frame.
