Reconfiguration of HSSD Department at Mayo University Hospital Castlebar

Tender description

The project consists of the reconfiguration of the HSSD Department on a phased basis to allow the facility to operate during the reconfiguration works. The objective is to provide 4 number autoclaves to comply with decontamination and infection control guidelines particularly passthrough arrangements from dirty to clean and comply with (HTM 01 01) - Decontamination of surgical instruments and (HBN 13) - Planning and design of sterile services departments. The existing configuration of the autoclaves to be decommissioned as part of the works does not facilitate pass-through sterilisation. The 4 number pass-through autoclaves will comprise, 1) The relocation of one existing unit titled AC.01 on the existing survey drawing from the existing bank of autoclaves which was supplied by Manepa Medical 628B Jordanstown Ave., Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole, Dublin. Tel. (01) 4677600. It is the responsibility of the Works Contractor prepare the area and to relocate and recommission the existing steriliser. Details of the existing Manepa unit is provided as background information in Appendix 3 to the tender pack. Prior to the above the existing autoclave 02 (Ac.02) shall be decommissioned and removed from site due to its poor condition and autoclave 03 (AC.03) shall be relocated into the position of AC.02. The works contractor will be responsible for engaging the specialist supplier to remove AC.02 and relocate AC.03 and recommission AC.03 in its new location. 2) There will be 2 number new autoclaves purchased by the Employer and installed by the supplier during the works. The proposed sterilisers will be ZentraCERT, type 7200 supplied by Sterval, Unit 14 Thompson Enterprise Centre, Clane Business Park, Kilcock Road, Clane, Co. Kildare, Tel. (01) 5547399, subject to HSE procurement. The supplier will be responsible for commissioning and validating the new units.
