King Charles Street Quadrangle, Maintenance and Refurbishment Project

Tender description

The Grade 1 listed, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), King Charles Street (KCS) building in Whitehall, houses a central quadrangle. The quadrangle is currently utilised as a secure car park and external space for FCDO staff. The quadrangle requires intrusive maintenance to be undertaken which provides an opportunity for the space to be refurbished to provide a significantly improved staff amenity and to introduce environmental and accessibility improvements. The quadrangle is surrounded on all sides by the FCDO KCS building. The space is accessed to the south by a narrow archway providing vehicular access to King Charles Street, and to the north by an archway providing vehicular access to Downing Street. The quadrangle is an important FCDO infrastructure asset and so access for staff and vehicles will be required throughout the delivery of the works.
